Things to Do for Sweetest Day and Recipes to Cook As Well

Are you familiar with the Sweetest Day?  It is a holiday for men.  It is celebrated in the Midwestern and Northeastern United States every third Saturday of October.  The day celebrates men, so women are expected to give gifts to their husbands or boyfriends.

Maybe you’re rolling your eyes right now. A day for men, yeah right!  But ladies, men are always expected to be the sweet ones. So, there is nothing wrong with dedicating a day for them as well.

When you love someone, giving him a gift is a great way to express your affection. Of course, you don't always need to buy stuff to make your loved ones feel special.  You can always do things that may be deemed sweet by your boyfriend, husband, or significant other.  Here are a few suggestions:

Listen to What He Has to Say

Your husband or boyfriend probably listens to you all the time.  Maybe dedicate the day to listening to him.  In truth, this is not something that you should do for just one day.  Be his best friend, and one of the qualities of being a great friend is being an exceptional listener.  Listen without judgment.  Give him his taking space.  Let him talk his heart out and get him to talk about whatever he wants.

Dress Something Nice for Him

You can try dressing to his taste for just one day.  This is not a directive, but it is definitely something that you can do to make him happy because you love him.  There are dressing styles that may seem uncomfortable for you or maybe too revealing for your boyfriend, so why not try dressing to his taste.  He will likely find it sweet that you will make this effort for him.

Give Him a Gift

Of course, a gift is a given for Sweetest Day. You need to give your husband or boyfriend a gift. If you know that your boyfriend is looking for something for himself, you can get that for him. It might be a good idea for you to do this every now and then.  Get him a shirt or a cap for no reason at all. Being sweet doesn’t need to have a day.  It is something you can do all the time.

Is he into juicing or healthy stuff? Why not give him these 18 oz Glass Water Bottles? They’re the perfect containers for outdoor enthusiasts.  Is he into outdoor activities like camping? He’d love this Bamboo Portable Folding Picnic Table.

Cook for Him

It has always been said that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.  This is absolutely true!  Cooking for someone is akin to telling that person how special he or she is.  Why not prepare this Mango Cream Cheesecake Pancakes for a delicious breakfast in bed.  Why not whip up some Asian dishes for dinner with this One-Skillet Chicken Biryani recipe, or this Tangy Turkey Fresh Rolls Recipe, or this yummy Baby Bok Choy Salad with Baked Cornflake-crusted Tonkatsu?  You can also prepare this Easy Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich or Ham and Cheese Panini for him to bring to work.

Guys love that nurturing side of their girlfriends or wives. If you are not a great cook, you can ask someone to help you prepare dinner. You can also stick to the basics. Try baking a simple cake or heart-shaped cookies. He will definitely love the effort.

You can definitely do sweet and cute things for your special someone. After all, it is easy to think of things to do when you’re truly in love.
